War Horse Treats

Knights in the Middle Ages did this too… probably.

A true knight knows: happy horses win battles (and hearts).

Here’s our go-to homemade horse treat recipe from our friends @madbarnequine and approved by some very opinionated mares!

Knightly Horse Treats

Ingredients:• 1 cup oats• 1 cup chopped carrots or apples• ¼ cup chia seeds (or soybean / flax meal)• 2 tbsp melted coconut oil• 3 tbsp maple syrup (or molasses or honey)• ¼ cup salt• 40 g (2 scoops) spirulina

Instructions:

Line a baking tray with parchment or wax paper.

Mix all ingredients together until well combined.

Shape into bite-sized balls using hands or a spoon.

Chill in the fridge for 30–60 minutes until set.

Save this for your next barn day
