Medieval Fun Fact: Mandatory Archery

Did you know that in medieval England archery training was mandatory?

The Assize of Arms in 1252 required every child and man to own a bow and a certain number of arrows. A further proclamation in 1363 made by Edward III further reinforced this and required practice with the bow every Sunday.
