Basic First Aid w/ CPR & AED

Basic First Aid provides awareness, knowledge, and skills related to first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries.

Topics include:

  • Workplace safety
  • Self-protection
  • Scene and primary assessment
  • CPR
  • Breathing emergencies such as choking
  • External bleeding
  • Heart attack/angina
  • Stroke
  • Using an AED.

Includes CPR-C with AED certification for adult, child and infant. It is recognized by Ontario's Workplace Safety & Insurance Board.

** We recommend this as a basic level of first aid knowledge for ALL humans! WSIB & Ontario law requires all businesses to have first aid equipment, facilities, and properly trained personnel in all workplaces, at all times. Participants will complete the entire Basic First Aid course, mastering skills as listed above and receive the BFA certification. In this specialized course, an additional curriculum including injuries common to horseback riders will also be taught, extending above and beyond the BFA curriculum. Participants will become confident in treating and identifying common injuries encountered as a horseback rider.

Additional Skills include:
• Fractures
• Dislocations
• Suspected spinal injuries
