What Canadian equestrians won’t tell you about winter riding…
WE HAVE RIDING SKIRTS!!
Long before insulated breeches and technical winter gear, medieval riders relied on heavy wool gowns and cloaks to shield them from wind and snow. Women riding sidesaddle would arrange their layered skirts to drape over both legs, staying warm simply by design.
Winter protection wasn’t a specialty item. It was built into the garment.
Our riding skirts are inspired by that same principle: Warmth without bulk Freedom of movement Function rooted in history
Because winter riding isn’t about surviving the cold, it’s about riding through it.
